Powerful 7.2 earthquake shakes Pakistan
The powerful quake was felt by people living as far away as New Delhi and Dubai.
AN EARTHQUAKE MEASURING 7.2 on the Richter scale has hit south-western Pakistan.
The powerful quake struck in the early hours of Wednesday morning at 01.23 am local time, about 55 km west of Dalbandin, the BBC reports. The damage caused is not thought to be extensive.
The quake was first thought to have occurred at a depth of just 10km – a very shallow death that has life-threatening implications. However, this measurement was later revised to a depth of 84 km.
Nevertheless, the quake was reportedly felt across Pakistan itself and in India, Afghanistan and Qatar.
Geo News reported that two elderly women died due to heart attack while three others admitted to hospital as a result of the quake. About 200 structures were damaged, ABC News reports.
