Waterford man knocked down and killed in Antrim collision

The incident happened on Saturday afternoon close to the Ballyrobin Guest House.

A WATERFORD MAN was killed when he was struck by a car on Saturday afternoon.

John Fitzgerald, who was 27-years-old, died from injuries he sustained in an incident which happened on the Ballyrobin Road in Antrim on 19 November

A PSNI spokesman said: “Mr Fitzgerald, from Kilmacthomas, Waterford, was walking in the area when he was involved in a collision with a car shortly before 4.50pm close to the Ballyrobin Guest House.

Officers from the Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the Ballyrobin Road on Saturday evening and who witnessed the collision to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 831.
