Man to appear in court in relation to fatal road traffic collision in Wicklow

A 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A MAN IN his early 20s is due to appear at a sitting of Bray District Court this morning charged in relation to a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision where a 23-year-old man was killed.

The incident occurred at Croneyhorn on the R725 between Shillelagh and Carnew, County Wicklow early yesterday morning at approximately 4am.

The man suffered fatal injuries when the car he was travelling in as a passenger collided with a wall. He was pronounced dead at scene.

A man, in his early 20’s, was arrested in connection with this investigation is detained at Gorey Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, anyone with information or who may have travelled the R725 at Croneyhorn between 3am–4am on Sunday 11 May to contact them at Baltinglass Garda Station on 059 6482610, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
