'Juvenile male' arrested over serious assault on Limerick man

The latest arrest follows those of a teenage woman and a man in his early 20s earlier today.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING the serious assault of a man in Limerick yesterday afternoon have made a third arrest.

The ‘juvenile male’ was arrested this evening and is being held at Roxboro Road Garda Station.

The arrest brings to three the number of people in Garda custody over the assault on Lord Edward Street yesterday afternoon.

A woman in her late teens, and a man in his early 20s, were arrested in follow-up operations to the assault.

All three are being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The victim of the assault remains in a serious condition at University College Hospital in Cork.

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses to the incident, and in particular to anyone who was in the vicinity of Lord Edward St between 3pm and 3.30pm yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí have also appealed for anyone who may have seen a light green saloon car, with a 10 KY registration plate, in the area at the time.
