Three arrested over Kilkenny stabbing

A 21-year-old man was seriously injured after being stabbed in the city last night.

THREE PEOPLE HAVE been arrested after a man was seriously injured in a stabbing incident at an apartment block in Kilkenny city last night.

A 21-year-old man was stabbed at around 9pm last night at Lower New Street apartments.

He was taken to St Luke’s Hospital where he is receiving treatment for a stab wound.

Two men and a woman who are all in their 20s have been arrested by Gardaí and are being detained at Kilkenny and Thomastown Garda Station under section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, gardaí say.

Gardaí have asked anyone who was in the Lower New Street area of the city between 8pm and 10pm yesterday and who has information in relation to the incident to contact them at Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
