More than 15,400 people have been evacuated from 14 counties and cities.

TWO PEOPLE HAVE been killed and 72 injured after a powerful typhoon hit Taiwan.

Monsoon downpours intensified as Typhoon Nepartak moved across the Philippines today.

More than 15,000 people were evacuated in Taitung County, the third largest county in Taiwan, while many classes in schools were suspended in the capital of Manila.

Filipino officials also confirmed that at least 600 domestic and international flights were cancelled because of stormy weather and floods.
