Two face court over Belfast hijacking and assaults on police

A police officer was injured after stopping a hijacked car in Belfast in the early hours of Saturday morning.

TWO MEN ARE to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court tomorrow charged with hijacking a car and assaults on police.

The charges relate to incidents in the city in the early hours of Saturday morning, in which a car was allegedly hijacked on Locan Street. A police officer was injured when the car was stopped at Suffolk Road shortly afterwards.
