Two people were taken to University Hospital Limerick this morning.

Two hospitalised after overnight collision between car and horse in Co Clare

The collision occurred shortly after 3am this morning near Ennis.

TWO PEOPLE HAVE been injured after an overnight collision involving a car and a horse in Co Clare.

The collision occurred shortly after 3am this morning on the N85 near Cahercalla More, Ennis, Co Clare.

The driver and a passenger of the car were injured in the collision.

The passenger, a woman in her 40s sustained life-threatening injuries, and is currently being treated at University Hospital Limerick.

The driver of the car, a man in his 40s, was also conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

“Anyone with any information should contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 6848100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station,” a garda spokesperson said.

“Investigations are ongoing,” the spokesperson added.
