Two men arrested in connection with Gerard Delaney death

The two men were arrested this morning in connection with the death of Delaney last December.

TWO  YOUNG MEN have been arrested in connection with the death of Gerard Delaney in Ballyphehane, Co Cork last December.

A man in his late teens and another in his early twenties were arrested this morning in connection with the death of 51-year-old Delaney.

Delaney died following a confrontation outside the Manhattan pub on Lower Friars Walk in Ballyphehane in the early hours of Tuesday morning, 27 December last year.

Originally from Mahon in Co Cork, Delaney died of a combination of head trauma and stab wounds. A woman in her twenties and a man, 18, were also injured in the incident. Their injuries were not life threatening.

The two men were arrested in the Togher area and are currently being detained at Togher Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
