Two men due in court over dissident Republican activities

The men, who were arrested in the Louth-Meath area yesterday, will appear at the Special Criminal Court this evening.

TWO MEN arrested over alleged dissident Republican activities yesterday are to appear in court this evening.

The men, who were among four people arrested in the Louth-Meath region on Monday and Tuesday of this week, will appear before a special sitting of the Special Criminal Court at 6pm this evening.

One of the men, aged 49, was arrested in Castlebellingham on Monday.

The other, aged 30, was arrested in Navan a short time later.

A third man, a 38-year-old arrested yesterday morning in Navan, remains in Garda custody.

A fourth person, a 43-year-old woman arrested at the same time as the 49-year-old man due in court, has since been released without charge.
