THERE IS A high UV rating today so you better slap on a relatively high factor.
It is expected that temperatures could reach 22 degrees today, so let’s have none of this, ‘I’ll just lie out for a minute’ lark. We all know how it will end…
Today will be warm and mostly dry with some bright or sunny spells but it will stay cloudier in the west and north, says Met Eireann.

The UV index is pretty high for Ireland, ranging from 6-8 from 11am onwards.
The Irish Cancer Society advises that when the UV index is over 3 people should:
- Seek shade – especially from 11am to 3pm
- Cover up – with clothes and a hat
- Wear wraparound sunglasses – make sure they give UV protection
- Wear sunscreen - adults SPF 15 or higher and UVA protection and children SPF 30 or higher and UVA protection.
There is a high UV warning over the coming 10 days so better add it to this week’s shopping list. Who ever thought we would be doing this?
