Video: Miracle escape as car explodes

Race car driver was clearly frustrated by the incident and walks off in a sulk…

DRAG RACER MATT HAGAN escaped unscathed after his car burst into a fireball.

Travelling at 260mph flames erupted from the engine and tore the top and sides off his car.

Luckily the driver’s cabin seemed unaffected and Hagan simply walked away from the wreckage.

Spectators at the Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte, North Carolina, witnessed the explosion of the 8,000 horsepower funny car, as it is known. Hagan climbed from the wreckage in a huff and tossed a scrap of bodywork to the ground before stomping off the tarmac.
