THE NATION WILL bask in sunshine in temperatures of up to 23 degrees today as Met Éireann forecasts fine weather for the rest of the week.

We can expect a mild and humid start to the day but there will be a few showers to start the day, mainly affecting the west.

Forecasters have predicted that the day will be mostly dry though with warm spells of sunshine developing.

The forecast reads: “A few showers will move in off the Irish Sea later, some of these turning heavy up along the eastern counties this evening. North to northeast breezes will be mostly moderate in strength but fresh up along east coasts.

“Highest temperatures will range 18 to 23 degrees celsius, warmest across central and southern areas. Temperatures will be a few degrees lower around coasts as well as northern counties with onshore winds.”

The outlook for the next few days isn’t half bad either.

It is supposed to become even warmer over the coming days as continental air continues to feed in across Ireland.

Met Éireann added: “There will be a lot of dry weather bright weather generally with light to moderate easterly breezes, however as the humidity increases, so too will the threat of scattered thunderstorms.”
