Woman out walking her dog seriously injured in hit-and-run in Gorey

The 59-year-old is in St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin.

A WOMAN HAS been seriously injured in a hit and run road traffic collision in Gorey, Co Wexford this morning at 7.30am.

A 59-year-old woman was out walking her dog at Millands when she was struck by a vehicle which failed to remain at the scene.

Emergency services attended the scene and the woman was removed to St Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin where her condition is described as serious.

Gardaí in Gorey are investigating the incident. The road was closed to facilitate Forensic Collision Investigators but has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time, who may have dash cam footage, or anyone who may have information about the collision to contact Gardaí at Gorey Garda Station on 053 943 0690, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
