Another arrest in John Kenny murder probe

Meanwhile, the woman arrested earlier this week in connection with the murder has been released without charge.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a woman in her early 60s in connection with the murder of publican and schoolteacher John Kenny last month.

The woman was arrested this afternoon in the Galway area and is being held at Mill Street Garda station in the city under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Kenny was found dead at his family’s pub in the village of Oughterard, Co Galway on 25 September by his daughter.

Also today, the woman in her 30s who was arrested in connection with the murder on Tuesday in Claregalway has been released without charge. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecitions.

Gardaí yesterday released four men who had been arrested in connection with the murder.

One man arrested last week and charged with withholding information in connection with the murder investigation is due in court again on Friday.

Florin Fitzpatrick, 37, of The Green, College Road, Galway was refused bail at the weekend.
