From campervans to paddleboarding: Here's what's happening this bank holiday weekend

Here’s a round-up of the events taking place across Ireland over the bank holiday weekend.

IT’S A BANK holiday and if you don’t have any plans for that extra day off, don’t worry – there are plenty of events happening around the country.

Here’s some of this weekend’s highlights:

Bloom, one of Ireland’s biggest gardening festivals is still running at the Phoenix Park. The event provides a showcase for plants, garden design, construction, horticulture and gardening as a hobby. Organisers say the event has something in store for all the family, with a book club for young readers, a magician and a ‘little gardeners planting plot’. More information about ticket prices can be found here.

Another festival for those in the capital, the Dublin Port Riverfest is happening all weekend. The festival will be energising the banks of the River Liffey from the Sean O’Casey bridge, right through to Dublin Port and into Dublin Bay.

The weekend will be packed with water activities, from river ferries and cruises, to paddle-boarding and kayaking.
