'Sophisticated grow house' with €210k worth of cannabis found by gardaí

More than 200 plants at various stages of growth were found at a house in Dundalk.

GARDA HAVE SEIZED cannabis herb and plants worth €210,000 from a house in Dundalk.

While out on patrol on Operation Scale (intelligence gathering and burglary patrol) in the Dundalk area, gardaí from the Dundalk Detective Unit observed a car and individuals acting suspiciously on Castle Road.

They stopped and searched the car and obtained a warrant to search a premises on the same road.

During the course of the search the house and outbuildings gardaí discovered a “sophisticated cannabis cultivation grow house” with approximately 200 plants in various stages of growth.

The approximate street value of €160,000 was placed on the cannabis plants seized, with an approximate street value of €50,000 on the cannabis herb found at the premises.

Two men aged 33 years old were arrested and are currently being detained at Dundalk Garda station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.
