PVP, cocaine and heroin among drugs seized in searches of streets and buildings

Meanwhile, contraband cigarettes and tobacco was seized around O’Connell Street this morning.

GARDAÍ IN KILDARE and Newbridge found heroin, cannabis resin, cocaine, ecstasy and PVP in a number of searches carried out yesterday and today.

A total of 13 premises and two streets were searched. A sum of cash was also seized with the drugs, estimated to be valued at €90,000.

Meanwhile, revenue seized 3,700 contraband cigarettes and 2.25 kilograms of tobacco in the O’Connell Street area this morning.

The cigarettes, branded “M1″, “L&M Red”, “MG” and “821”, were seized along with the tobacco, branded “Flandria” and “Amber Leaf”.

Revenue officers also seized alcohol and 5,500 cigarettes, branded “Kent”, “Kent Slims”, “NZ”, and “Compliment Slims” at Dublin Port.

The seizure was made following a search of a Romanian registered bus that disembarked a ferry from Holyhead.

The combined value of the seized tobacco and alcohol product is in excess of €6,000, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €5,000.
