Orange rainfall warning: Intense thunderstorms and spot flooding for tomorrow

It’s looking like Munster might escape with no showers at all.

AN ORANGE RAINFALL warning has been issued for bank holiday Monday.

While today is warm and humid in most areas – the rain looks set to make an appearance tonight with intense thundery falls and spot flooding forecast for tomorrow.

The bank holiday Monday will start dry across most areas, but showers will develop later in the day with some thundery falls.

Met Eireann is warning of intense thunderstorms and slippy roads, poor visibility, and local flooding that will lead to treacherous driving conditions as showers will persist till after dark.

The high risk warning will especially affect the midland, west and northwest areas.

However, Munster will escape most of the bad weather and might see no showers at all.

Tuesday will be a mixed day with showers developing in some areas but it will be mostly warm and humid.

Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to reach their highest values of the current warm spell on Wednesday, with many places seeing values between 22 and 25 degrees in the afternoon.
