The guards were only delighted to help.

A BUNDLE OF huskies probably makes a welcome change to the illegal items gardaí are used to seizing.

These four puppies were stolen from a house in the Crumlin area of Dublin overnight on 20 October.

After a short investigation gardaí were able to obtain a search warrant for a house in Poddle Park, also in Crumlin.

The four young puppies were seized and returned to their owner.

“Great work put in today and great teamwork,” gardaí said on Facebook.

It gave everyone involved and in the station a great lift. We all love a happy ending.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Gardaí say dog theft is “quite common”, and owners of quiet dogs who are unlikely to bark up a fuss are advised to be conscious of this.
