7. #INDIA: 18 patients have died at a hospital in Chennai, southern India after generators at a hospital were knocked out as the result of flooding.

8. #JAILED: A Dublin businessman who was addicted to playing blackjack and used false invoices to claim €100,000 in VAT has been jailed for 18 months. 

9. #NEW YORK TIMES: The newspaper has written its first front-page editorial in 50 years calling for greater gun control.
