REVENUE OFFICERS AND gardaí have seized a quantity of ketamine and methamphetamine at a business premises in Dun Laoghaire.
The package – which originated in Spain – was confirmed to contain 20g ketamine and 200g of methamphetamine (also know as crystal meth) with an estimated combined street value of €13,200.
The seizure came from an intelligence-led operation involving Revenue, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau and gardaí from Dun Laoghaire Garda Station.
It is part of ongoing joint investigations targeting drug importations.
Gardaí arrested a 34-year-old Chinese man who is detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 and investigations are continuing.
Separately, gardaí connected with the Drug Unit in the Mullingar yesterday evening seized cannabis herb with an estimated street value of up to €25,000 after stopping and searching a car at Grange Crescent, Mullingar.
A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of The (Criminal Justice) Drug Trafficking Act 1996 at Mullingar Garda Station.
