• The secretary of the National Union of Journalists has said that the incoming Director General of RTÉ has agreed to meet with staff “not just in Dublin but around the country” in an effort to rebuild trust.

• A man plead guilty this afternoon to murdering his friend, who was “lured” to a country lane and “riddled” with bullets in an “execution-style killing”.
• Organisers of a protest by council workers have said that librarians are living in a state of “fear and dread” as right wing protestors target libraries in anti-LGBTQI+ demonstrations.
• Two German Shepherd dogs that attacked their owner’s neighbour and his small pet dogs in north Co Dublin have avoided being put down and are to be rehomed after training. 
• Two white-tailed eagles who were found dead in Ballymena last month were poisoned, the PSNI have confirmed.

#CLUSTER BOMBS The US planned to authorise the supply of cluster munitions to Ukraine today despite the fact such ordnance is banned in over 100 countries because of the risk they pose to civilians. 

#DRUGS Radical drug reforms in Scotland, including decriminalisation of possession for personal use, were knocked down by the UK Government within an hour of being announced. 

#PAKISTAN The death toll from two weeks of monsoon rains in Pakistan rose to 55, according to local authorities.
