They are also reporting that the delays from this stretch back as far as junction nine (Red Cow exit).

THERE HAS BEEN an oil spill on the M50 at the junction with the N4 Lucan road. It’s understood the spill was caused by a collision at around 9am.
A reduced number of lanes are now in operation and traffic is being disrupted. Emergency services are at the scene dealing with the spill.

TRAFFIC ON THE M50 outside Dublin is experiencing significant delays as a result of a traffic accident in south Dublin. A two-car collision has blocked a number of lanes at Junction 12 (Firhouse) northbound, with traffic backed up as far as Junction 13 near Sandyford. The road has reopened but long delays remain on approach.

THE M50 MOTORWAY UPGRADE has officially been completed. The project cost €950m and took over four years to finish. The final N3 interchange section was opened to traffic at 5.30 this evening. Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey said it was a marvellous day for Ireland. His department said the upgrade reduced journey times by up to 50%.
